Dinner @ Art and Soul - Washington, DC
Dinner at Art and Soul Chef Art Smith's New Restaurant in Washington, D.C.
I forgot to take a picture of our appetizer, but it was a Hoecake. We have never had them before and didn't know what to expect.
It was a rectangular thin pancake made with cornmeal. We chose the one that came hidden under a pile of arugula with candied walnuts and blue cheese, with a light dressing.
I loved the salad part. The pancake was like a very plain pancake. At least we tried something new.
I ordered the Salmon. It was delicious.
The waiters were extra helpful with the kids, the menu and answering questions. They also liked talking about the food, Chef Art and the restaurant. They gave the boys Hot Wheels to play with and Katie a mini Etch A Sketch.
When we arrived there were only about 4 tables busy, but by the time we were eating the restaurant was full and they didn't have as much time to chat.
Geoff ordered the filet. It was melt in your mouth delicious too.
The kids ordered a bowl of penne pasta, suggested by the waiters, fries and an order of chicken fingers. We always order the kids food when we order drinks so that they get to eat right away. So by the time I was taking pictures..... they were about done.
The chicken came with skin on roasted red potatoes which Katie tried and liked (a miracle!)
Not a great photo, but a shot of the style of the chairs, tables, carpet and dishware for the restaurant.
